Applies to cars equipped with smart keys.
The theft requires a minimum of two thieves with two suitcases/cases that act as a scanner/amplifier and data receiver/transmitter. These suitcases communicate with the car’s key and capture the signal to open the vehicle and start the engine. It doesn’t matter where the key is located; whether it’s inside a building such as: a house, office, or whether it’s in the owner’s pocket, purse or briefcase, signal capture by the scanner/amplifier is possible even from 8 meters away from the key. The signal amplification is so strong that transmission to a second receiver/transmitter at the car is possible at a distance of up to 800 meters! The car “thinks” that the owner opens it with the original key. Thieves steal the car in an incredibly fast way. The theft takes an average of 6 seconds! All brands of cars equipped with a keyless entry system are vulnerable to this type of theft. Since 2012, the system has become popular not only in luxury cars, it is installed in cars of all manufacturers in the world.
